Human Trafficking

Modern Day Slavery

Human trafficking is when a person uses force, coercion, abduction, fraud, or deception to control another person’s vulnerability for the purpose of engaging in commercial sex acts or labor or services against his/her will. In general, human trafficking is a form of slavery where people profit from the exploitation of others.

Human Trafficking does not discriminate against financial status, race, gender, religion, or age.

Vulnerable populations that traffickers target are typically runaways, children in troubled homes, loners, homeless, victims of domestic violence, and people who are socially discriminated against.

Sex trafficking happens is often thought that it only happens on the streets as prostitution, but it also happens in residential homes, massage parlors, sporting events, malls, truck and rest stops, and online.
