Statement of Faith

Our Statement of Faith

Above All Else...

  • Scripture

We believe the Bible was written by divine inspiration and is the trustworthy Word of God that provides His followers an instruction book to life by. (2 Timothy 3:16-17)

  • God

We believe there is only one God who reveals Himself to us in the Trinity of Father, Son and Holy Spirit (Matthew 28:19)

God the Father: We believe God is our heavenly father, our creator and redeemer. (Isaiah 63:16)

God the Son: Jesus is the eternal Son of God. (John 3:16) Conceived from the Holy Spirit and born of the virgin Mary (Luke 1:27-2:12). Crucified and resurrected (Matthew 27:1-54). He provided countless teachings while on earth for us to live by.

God the Holy Spirit: The Holy Spirit sent by God to dwell within us to help us in all times. (John 14:26)

  • Man

We believe we are created in the image of God (Genesis 1:26-27). We are free of sin and innocent when born, but through the temptations of Satan and free choice we fall into sin. (James 1:13-15) The same free choice provides us to receive Christ gift of redemption and salvation. (Romans 5:6)

  • Salvation

We believe God provides grace to those who ask for redemption and repent of their sins. (Ephesians 2: 8-9). God breathes new life into us. (2Corinthians 5:17)

  • The Church

We believe all believers are the body of Christ built as the foundation of the church with God being the cornerstone built as one. (Ephesians 2:20-22) The church is not a building itself, but the people of Christ.

  • Baptism

We believe in following the example of Christ in water baptism, as the way for believers to identify with the death, burial and resurrection of Jesus. (Matthew 28:19; Romans 6:4; Matthew 3:13-17)

  • Communion

We believe in holy communion also known as the Lord’s Supper as an act of obedience given to all disciples of Christ. This act is a remembrance of the death of Christ by partaking of bread and fruit of the vine. (Matthew 26:26-28; 1 Corinthians 11:23-26)

  • Tithing

We believe in giving a tithe, or a tenth, of total income in order to balance responsible stewardship with following the Holy Spirit.(Malachi 3:8-10)

  • Marriage, Gender and Sexuality

We believe God instituted marriage between one man and one woman as a covenant relationship. Marriage is the foundation of the family and the basic structure of human society. For this reason, we believe that marriage is exclusively the union of one man and one woman. We believe God created every person in His image as male or female and rejection of one’s biological sex is a rejection of the image of God within that person. (Genesis 1:27; Genesis 2:18-24; 1 Corinthians 6:9-10, 18-20; 1 Corinthians 7:2-5; Hebrews 13:4; Romans 1:18-32; Matthew 19:5-6)

  • Sanctity of Life

We believe that all human life is sacred and created by God in His image. Our life from pre-born to death is an ongoing process of allowing God’s character and gifts to be developed in us no matter the physical or mental challenge. We are therefore called to defend, protect, and value all human life. (Psalm 139; Romans 6:19)

This statement of faith does not exhaust the extent of our beliefs. The Bible is the written Word of God, is the sole basis and final source of all that we believe. For purposes of She Dreams Again’s faith, practice, policy, and discipline, our board of directors is the final interpretive authority on the meaning and application of the Statement of Faith for She Dreams Again
